My fiancé and I gifted my mother an extinguishing ornament as an early christmas gift. After a very recent holiday scare, I was introduced to these extinguishing ornaments.
My house could have burned down if it were not for inspecting my pre-lit Christmas tree. The lights were still lighting up but were a little dim. After taking off one string that was out along with the partially working one, I was sick to my stomach with what I found. They were certified strings of LED lights and the tree was only six years old. Never did I expect to find such a fire hazard - there were parts of the wires that were burned right through! I cut off the rest of the lights on the tree only to find more burned parts.
I feel much safer now with the extinguishing ornament on my tree. I also bought them for my brothers and their homes. It truly makes me feel more secure to know they and their families are protected.
